5 Days Tour From Marrakeh to Merzouga

Your 5-day desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga begins with a drive through the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi n’Tichka Pass. We will stop to take pictures of the stunning landscapes and visit a Berber argan oil cooperative to learn about its production. Next, we explore the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a famous filming location for movies like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. After lunch, we continue to Ouarzazate, known as the Gateway to the Desert. Passing through Skoura palm groves and the Valley of Roses, we reach the Dades Valley, where we will have dinner and spend the night in a hotel.

After breakfast, we continue our journey through the Dades Valley, heading towards the breathtaking Todra Gorges, where you can admire the high rock walls. After a lunch stop, we drive to Erfoud, known for its fossils and desert landscapes. Arriving in Merzouga, you will be welcomed with traditional tea before meeting your camel for a ride across the golden Erg Chebbi dunes. We will watch the sunset over the desert before arriving at a Sahara camp, where we enjoy a traditional dinner with Berber music under the stars.

Wake up early to see the beautiful sunrise in the Sahara Desert, then ride your camel back to Merzouga, where your driver will be waiting. Today, we will explore the Merzouga region, visiting desert lakes, fossil areas, and Berber villages. We start by visiting an old eyeliner mine, then meet nomads living in traditional tents to learn about their way of life while enjoying a cup of Berber tea. Next, we visit Khamlia village, where you can experience the Gnaoua music and dance, brought by people from Mali, Sudan, and Niger. After lunch, we take a walk through the palm groves and visit the Hassi Labied Oasis before returning to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

We wake up early to see the sunrise over the Sahara, then begin our tour from Marrakech to Merzouga back. Driving through the Draa Valley, we pass oasis, kasbahs, and traditional villages. We cross the Anti-Atlas Mountains before reaching Ouarzazate, where we spend the night in a traditional hotel or riad.

After breakfast, we visit the famous Kasbah Taourirt and the Atlas Film Studios, which have made Ouarzazate a popular filming location. We then drive towards Marrakech, stopping at Kasbah Telouet, one of the oldest kasbahs in the High Atlas Mountains.
