Join this Fes to Marrakech desert tour 4 days and discover the charm of Morocco’s desert, its fascinating culture, and its breathtaking landscapes.
Your Fes to Marrakech desert tour 4 days begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel/riad in Fes. The first stop is Ifrane, a charming town known for its European-style architecture. Take a short break to enjoy the fresh air and maybe a cup of coffee before continuing to the cedar forest of Azrou in the Middle Atlas Mountains, where you can see Barbary monkeys.
Next, drive through the beautiful landscapes of Midelt and the Ziz Valley, a lush area full of palm trees, before reaching Merzouga in the afternoon. Settle into your riad and admire the golden Erg Chebbi dunes that surround the town.
Wake up to a delicious breakfast at your riad before starting an exciting day in the Merzouga desert. Your first stop is Khamlia, a small village where you can listen to Gnawa music, a unique rhythm played by locals whose ancestors came from Africa. Then, take an off-road drive to M’Fis, an abandoned mining village.
After that, visit a nomadic Berber family living behind the Erg Chebbi dunes. Enjoy a cup of tea with them and learn about their traditional way of life.
In the afternoon, embark on a camel ride across the high dunes. Stop on a big dune to try sandboarding and watch a breathtaking sunset. Arrive at your desert camp, where you will have dinner, listen to traditional drum music, and spend the night under the starry sky.
Wake up early to witness a magical sunrise over the dunes, then enjoy breakfast at your desert camp. After that, leave Merzouga and pass through Rissani, Erfoud, and Tinghir on your way to the famous Todra Gorge, a beautiful canyon with tall rock formations.
If it’s a market day in Rissani (Sunday, Tuesday, or Thursday), you can visit a local souk where people sell spices, handmade crafts, and street food. There will be plenty of stops along the way to take pictures and learn about the local traditions.
In the afternoon, arrive at Dades Gorge, where you will spend the night in a comfortable hotel. Enjoy dinner and relax after a long day of travel.
After breakfast at your hotel, continue your journey along the Road of 1000 Kasbahs towards Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Morocco.” You can visit the famous Atlas Studios or take pictures from outside.
Next, explore the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has been used as a filming location for movies like Gladiator and Prince of Persia. After a delicious lunch, drive through the High Atlas Mountains, passing Berber villages and scenic landscapes.
By the afternoon, your Fes to Marrakech desert tour 4 days comes to an end as you arrive in Marrakech. Your driver will drop you off at your hotel, leaving you with unforgettable memories of your desert adventure.

The camel ride to the desert camp takes about 1 hour each way. If you prefer, you can take a 4×4 instead of riding a camel.
You should bring comfortable clothing, walking shoes, warm clothes for the night, sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat, a small backpack for personal items, and a camera or phone to capture the beautiful desert scenery.
If you have back or knee issues, you can skip the camel trek and take a 4×4 vehicle to the desert camp instead. Let us know in advance, and we will arrange a comfortable transfer for you.
Yes, vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free meal options are available. Please inform us of any dietary requirements when booking.
The best time is spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November) when the weather is not too hot or too cold.
